About Suzanne Zuber, E-RYT 500
Suzanne is a European-American yogini and international yoga instructor and teacher trainer, studied classical asana and philosophy as well as cutting-edge anatomy and therapeutics with some of the world’s most skilled teachers, including Noah Mazé, Sianna Sherman and Douglas Brooks, and meditation teachers such as Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.
With Noah Mazé, she earned her 300-hour advanced teaching certificate during a year-long course of study in Berlin, focusing on Iyengar-based alignment Hatha and Vinyasa yoga with an emphasis in physiotherapy taught by Dr. Paula Gelbart. Before that, she completed her 200-hour Anusara-yoga teacher training with Siri Peterson, and has further studied with Sianna Sherman, Adam Ballenger and other Anusara Master teachers. Suzanne obtained the rigorous Anusara certification in 2018 under the new teacher-led school, Anusara School of Hatha Yoga.
“My passion for teaching smart, versatile yoga comes from direct experience: Yoga was the missing piece that freed my dancer-academic-self from chronic pain. The balance of effort and letting go turned my life around as I reconnected to my innate physical and mental freedom.”
Suzanne’s Yoga Journey
Her journey began over a decade ago as a stressed-out, pained young mother and museum professional, in a German Ashtanga studio. Here, she found the gracefulness she was missing from her years of dancing Ballet; yet what intrigued her most was the peace she experienced in the practice. In California, Suzanne encountered Anusara Yoga, whose alignment-based and heart-centered method helped her overcome chronic pain and reframe her approach to life’s ups and downs.
From a young age, Suzanne understood the world around her through kinetic movement our body’s relationship with gravity, and through a keen visual sense of ‘line and color in space,’ Growing up, she spent week-ends immersed in the colorful worlds of Kandinsky, Monet, and other early modern artists in Munich’s art museums. These abstract works felt just as real as the vibrant landscapes of mountain, woods, water, and sky of the Bavarian alps that surrounded her every day. Later, she studied interior design, art, and architecture at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. She brings this personal history of vivid, multisensory life into her yoga teaching - helping you design your experience in such a way that allows you to tap into the sweetness that comes with being in the moment, in your body, your breath, and your senses.
