Freedom and Stability Immersion
Suzanne Zuber’s Freedom and Stability Anusara® Immersion takes you and your group of fellow seekers on an adventure of self-discovery and in-depth exploration of the art and science of Yoga and movement science. This 100 hour immersion is a deep dive, geared towards anyone who wants to start, or expand their practice and understanding of yoga, basic anatomy and movement, and gain an overview over the history and philosophy of yoga, from ancient to modern times.
The Freedom and Stability curriculum incorporates ancient and evolving yogic traditions as well as new findings from movement science and stress research. Through the anatomy-based and heart-centered Anusara®Method, you will develop your capacity to lead a resilient life of freedom by cultivating stability as well as flexibility, and integrating body, mind, and heart. This training is for anyone who loves, or is curious about yoga, and who wants to learn and experience more.
This 100 hour Immersion is Part I of Suzanne’s 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training. Those who wish to continue may graduate to Part II which focuses on the Art of Teaching and be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT-200.
Begins Fall 2023.
Alignment based Anusara Yoga
Anusara Yoga provides an elegant, intuitive system of alignment steps called “Universal Principles of Alignment” based on anatomy and bio-mechanics, which can be equally be applied to deeper levels of mind, emotion, and intuition. Of Iyengar-lineage, Anusara® Yoga is infused with the teachings of Non-Dualism, where the body, mind, and spirit are not separate but one, and where freedom and vibrance don’t need to be ‘earned’, but exist inside of us already, and can be tapped by aligning these three (body, mind and spirit).
Curriculum
The 100 Hour Immersion is for EVERY BODY who wants to deepen their practice and knowledge of the many facets of Yoga as an empowering lifestyle and ‘inner pharmacy'. This program is not about teaching yoga. It is about learning the principles and practices of being a yogi in your everyday world. It is about learning how to live and teach from within yourself. Completion of this course offers these benefits:
A demanding program developed by some of the world's leading minds and practitioners of yoga. It is designed to engage in the essential practices of Anusara™ yoga: asana (100 poses), meditation, pranayama (breath work) and philosophical studies.
Asana (Hatha and Vinyasa): learn how to practice the 100 most well-known yoga poses and how to link them with your breath. Includes empowering instructions to keep you safe in vinyasa transitions.
Meditation, Pranayama and Stress Reduction: Get to know various meditation techniques and how the work for you, and get a ‘handle’ on
Anatomy & Movement: core concepts from movement science that help you understand how to find and use your muscles to support your joints in your yoga poses, and how to modify yoga poses to fit your body.
Philosophy of Yoga: gain an overview and develop your own relationship to yoga philosophy, with an emphasis on Non-Dual Philosophy. Get a first look at Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita.
