Freedom and Stability Immersion and 200 Hour Teacher Training in the Anusara® method with Suzanne Zuber

Suzanne Zuber’s Freedom and Stability Anusara® Immersion and Teacher Training takes you and your group of fellow seekers on an adventure of self-discovery and in-depth exploration of the art and science of Yoga and movement science. This training has two parts of 100 hours each, which can be taken separately or together. Part I is an immersion, Part II is a foundations teacher training which is great for solidifying your knowledge even if you have no intention of teaching.

This Yoga Teacher Training is ideal for serious students of yoga and aspiring yoga teachers. Students with injuries and health issues are encouraged to attend. The Freedom and Stability curriculum incorporates ancient and evolving yogic traditions as well as new findings from movement science and stress research. Through the anatomy-based and heart-centered Anusara®Method, you will develop your capacity to lead a resilient life of freedom by cultivating stability as well as flexibility, and integrating body, mind, and heart. Graduates of Module II will be equipped with the tools to teach safe and effective yoga classes.

This training is recognized by Yoga Alliance and focuses on three areas of study: Physical practice and Therapeutics, Meditation and Breathwork, and the Theory and Practice of Yoga Philosophy. Module II focuses on the Art of Teaching. Graduates of both modules are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance at its RYT-200 level upon successful completion. They will also have the option of certifying at the basic level of Anusara Elements teacher.

Alignment based Anusara Yoga

Anusara Yoga provides an elegant, intuitive system of alignment steps called “Universal Principles of Alignment” based on anatomy and bio-mechanics, which can be equally be applied to deeper levels of mind, emotion, and intuition. Of Iyengar-lineage, Anusara® Yoga is infused with the teachings of Non-Dualism, where the body, mind, and spirit are not separate but one, and where freedom and vibrance don’t need to be ‘earned’, but exist inside of us already, and can be tapped by aligning these three (body, mind and spirit).

A Two Part Training

Part I is a 100 hour is a deep dive, an Anusara immersion geared towards anyone who wants to start, or expand their practice and understanding of yoga, basic anatomy and movement, and gain an overview over the history and philosophy of yoga, from ancient to modern times. Part I is prerequisite to Part II.

Part II gives you the opportunity to learn and practice teaching Anusara yoga in your authentic voice, in a safe, encouraging environment. Anatomy knowledge and philosophy are solidified and expanded. You will come out confident in designing and teaching a well-rounded multi-level class that inspires your students and keeps them safe.

Testimonials

  • I was fortunate to train under Suzanne for a 200 hr. teacher training program in Berkeley. Suzanne, a self described "anatomy geek"; is a rare yoga educator who combines her compassionate teaching style with warmth and humor! In fact, she is a delight to learn from since she is always engaging and informative. Suzanne took extra steps to make me feel welcome in the program; particularly since I am not a flexible person! She readily conveyed to me the importance of understanding the asana through study of anatomy ! I look forward to participating in future workshops with Suzanne since she is a true treasure; and I would highly recommend taking any classes, workshops, trainings or seminars she teaches !

  • “(Our live module) last week-end completely transformed my practice. This is huge! I’m feeling ALL my muscles now, including the deep core :-), and it’s incredibly how much easier my one-legged balancing poses have become!”

  • “Suzanne, [last week-end’s TT module] was such a highlight. I’m totally inspired. Those cues are now stuck in my head! And I totally got the relationship between agonist and antagonist muscle groups. Thank you for this experience!”
